Ponies Fighting - Raven Vs Twilight Death Battle and Them's Fightin Herds


Tonight you get double-teamed by high impact simulated violence.
Word on the street is that there are a pair of pony-related pummelings that are poised to premiere in the near future; Them's Fightin Herds and Death Battle.






The first bit of news comes from Mane 6 - the guys who have been....working?....for years now, on completing the spiritual successor to Fighting is Magic, which is called Them's Fightin Herds. For those who don't know because you're all so new you never even heard of Herds, it's a fighting game featuring characters created by Mama Lauren Faust herself.



The game is set to finally drop on Steam on February 22.

The other piece of news comes from the ScrewAttack forums, where a piece of information has been floating around, that the next Death Battle will feature a Tara Strong double-feature - Raven from the Teen Titans, versus Book Horse Purple Smart Mary Sue Worst Pony Twilight Sparkle. 

This would be the third time ponies have been featured on Death Battle.

    DashVStarscream and PinkieVDeadpool were amazing. While I highly suspect Twilight could own Raven I see them ending up friends. Begrudgingly on Raven's part maybe but neither are evil characters. Both are good souls.

      Twilight can only own the cartoon incarnation of Raven.

      But since it seems like they are using some sort of undefined Composite version, Raven would turn Twilight into glue.

    Just slightly over five years after Fighting is Magic's C&D, it's finally happening. I can still remember how bummed out I was when I heard the news of that C&D. I think a lot of my enthusiasm for the fandom died that day and never recovered. Here's hoping it'll be worth the wait.

      It's a simple (reportedly) still unfinished looking simple brawler with a handful of characters.if it had taken 2 years it would be pushing 'worth the wait'.

      I'm not a pro Skullgirls player. I've barely played any fighting games at all. But these characters were cute enough to make me WANT to get into this game regardless.

      But the state of its initial launch is unforgivable. I don't mind that story mode was dropped. I don't mind that it doesn't have the full character roster.

      I DO mind that it has no tutorial and no adaptive matchmaking. I cannot learn this game. I cannot practice this game efficiently. The controls don't make sense to me, and the game has no interest in helping me understand it.
