Art by an Anon. Guess what? I paid for it. What a concept! |
Sean Webby was eager to begin working on a new project for his magnanimous leader, ILoveKimPossibleAlot (aka KP). He was to “head the entire project,” called Let’s Go and Meet John de Lancie (the video has since been made private), and saw it as “an opportunity for the community as a whole to band together and show de Lancie that [we] still cared.” KP made promises “like, ‘you’ll be creating something that John de Lancie and Tara Strong will see,’ or, ‘you’ll have so many new fans after this.’”
His life, unbeknownst to him, was about to be turned into “absolute hell.”
Early on, when KP first contacted Sean about the project, she “did not have a team of editors/animators creating her videos[; she] was pretty much doing everything on her own” and he was “definitely one of the first to work for her.” He was interested in her pitch, stating he “liked the idea behind it.”
Inasmuch as already stated, Sean “was the head of [the] entire project” and he “stuck with it from the very beginning to the very end.” He filled many roles, including “the director, an animator, audio mixer, and co-manager of the whole thing.” Additionally, KP “had [him] edit some of her videos on the side.”
Slowly and with difficulty did the work proceed for our intrepid project manager. The team would “[gain] animators only to lose them[, ...] cycle through multiple musicians for the creation of [a] song, [and] generally [have] delays like no tomorrow.” Among their “struggle[es] to get this thing finished,” Sean began to notice it was “[taking] such a toll on [his] physical [and] mental health” and felt like he “didn’t have the strength to quit.” Furthermore, “[b]ecause [he] convinced [himself] it was [his] responsibility to finish it” and that the “project would crumble without [him]” he began to believe he would be “[rewarded] in some way.”
ILoveSlavesAlot being carried by her servants. Sean's OC is on the left. From a Dr. Wolf video with art done by Greycat Silvermane (OC on the right). |
Amongst all this drudgery, he began to “[realize] this [project] had little to do with the community and everything to do with her.” In fact, he began to believe “the [brony] community was just a backdrop to populate a world that only revolved around her.”
The bus crashed with no survivors. Art from a video by Mayde. |
Jarringly, Sean then experienced a personal tragedy:
One early morning, I was awoken to my dad telling me that my mom had passed out while brushing her teeth in the bathroom, and that her head hit the edge of the bathtub upon landing. She was out cold, and needed to be taken to the emergency room. Considering she was recovering from a concussion, having this happen was a pretty big deal. Luckily, she turned out fine, but it was really scary when it happened.
Ensuingly after this harrowing ordeal, he “told KP about this [and] that this was going to be delaying the production a bit.” Initially she was “understanding” and “willing to be patient about it.” But within a few weeks, “that video [came] out.”
Stay classy, KP. |
Within the video, KP apologizes for a delay in the release of the project, but states “it’s not my fault, send your hate mail here” and then posts a link to Sean’s DeviantArt page. She then bemoans “all these bad things [happening] to [her]” before literally belittling Sean and stating, “This is what happens when you have free labor.” Though he admits “she probably meant for that to come off as a [joke, but] even as a joke, it seemed very passive aggressive and in rather poor taste.”
An anonymous artist's rendition of Sean's OC being fucked in the ass by ILoveFuckingAnimatorsAlot |
Faced with the outcome of this experience, Sean says, “I regret wasting an entire year of my life helping to bring [the project] into fruition.” What about the promises made by KP when the project began? Well, “JDL didn’t see that video for nearly 2 years after its release [and] Tara has no idea it even exists.” What about all the #HorseFame he gained from working on such a prestigious project? He answers, “I didn’t gain any exposure from it.”
|
JDLsees the video nearly two years after its release. Original screencap archived here. |
And what did Sean learn during this year of agony?
But if that experience has taught me anything, it’s to never offer your services for free. No matter who it’s for, or what you think you’ll achieve from it. It won’t get you anywhere, and you’ll be wasting time that you could be spending creating your own works, or earning what you deserve from someone who will respect your time and effort.
Great advice that we could all use.
So there you have it, dear readers: A first-hand account of what it’s like to work with KP on one of her projects. You can read the full transcript of what Sean sent us here.

I'd like to specially thank Sean Webby for coming forward and sharing his story. Keep your eyes peeled, there may be more to cum in this Neverending Drama. For now, check out our in-depth analysis of her silly NDA and our initial article which began exposing all this drama. Also, keep abreast of breaking drama news by following @AnonKPLeaks on Twitter.

DeleteHey Tyler just a heads up by you saying that doesn't help your chances with hitching with ilovedemoralizingforpersonalGainalot and also undertail is old news and publicly commenting here just makes it easier to troll the shit out of you if you're not mentally unstable enough yet
DeleteTyler, stop going to every fucking video and article against KP and saying the same thing OVER and OVER.
DeleteWelp that's ilovekimpossiblealot down the pan and flushed into the toilet of obscurity. Good riddance and she can take the majority of the brony "analysis" community with her.
ReplyDeleteNot SilverQuill though, he makes quality content. Everyone else though...
DeleteSilver Quill is a shill just like TheIllustriousQ is over at EqD. They won't say anything negative about the show or the IDW comics for fear of losing access they have, and being dropped from EqD for growing a spine.
DeleteAt least Silver Quill pays for artist content. I applied to do art for him and compensation was part of the discussion.
DeleteTrue that's good he does that but I'd rather work for someone decent who is a few steps away from the likes of EqD that is terrified to do anything for them to lose access to sucking the big sweaty Hasbro cock.
DeleteFuck u, I'm the best pony analcyst of them all
Deletedope.
ReplyDeleteWhile I haven't heard of KP prior to the drama starting with Minty's tweets none of this is new to me. In fact I've known about that sort of project organization since 2012 in this fandom. Only difference is that it wasn't an art thing.
ReplyDeleteCan we have one next about TheIllustriousQ and how he sucks IDW dick and anyone who disagrees with him is a tight wing Trump supporter who us a "troll" and accused them of baseless accusations.
ReplyDeleteSeriously that guy needs to be exposed for the Bonby Curnow cock sucker he is.
I would enjoy reading that.
DeleteToo bad the IDW forums are gone.
Delete>expose
DeleteIsn't it already in plain sight?
Well yes it is but hardly anyone calls him out on it. Of course when you do you get the default SJW response. That you're being a "troll" or causing "harassment". Funny how 2016 seems to of twisted and corrupted the true meanings of the terms.
Delete2016? Shit, that's been happening since Al Gore invented the internet.
DeleteAnyways, isn't TheInsufferableQ a mod or a regular at The Round Stable? Along with some of the IDW staff?
The Illustrious Q is a mod at Equestria Daily and he took his shilling efforts beyond all limits there.
DeleteIf you dare to say anything bad about the comics he will start attacking you (Not your opinion, but YOU) and then will try to control the conversation to drag it elsewhere.
But what else could you expect from a fat, balding and ugly loser?
And yes, he IS fat, ugly and balding- he really shouldn't have uploaded his picture to the internet.
It's too bad the Round Stable is moderated by the Gestapo, or we could have some fun with folks like him.
DeleteI can bet my entire collection of Sailor Moon dolls and plushies that Illustrious Q (he really needs to be fired, since from what I can tell he got reported several times and nobody fucking likes him) is a smelly basement dweller who has no means to get a job or live a proper life, and has antisocial personality disorder.

ReplyDeleteIt's "annoying" [as shit] to read
" " - marking a quotation
Delete[ ] - marking the fact that a change was made in the quotation for the quality of the text.
It might be HN, but they are still obligated to mark that stuff.
It's overdone. Wanna know why? They're forcing a 3rd person perspective on a quote originally made as a 1st person perspective. Doing so will force you to change every instace of "I" to "He" and so on... not to mention combining the quotes with the writer's statements.
DeleteIt's a terrible writing decision. They should have stuck with seperating the quotes vs reiterating what the person said.
Wait, are you implying that >HN is not the pinnacle of online journalism?!
DeleteLiterally who?
ReplyDelete3rd article in and it reads like ILoveKuntPuntsALot is a boss, not a leader. A skill-less and very inept boss at that, with the people skills of a potato.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought furfags were gullible.
Mentioning furfags as if furfags and brony fags are different in any way, shape or form. Hint: they're not, it's just wishful thinking by bronies who want to dislike furries because they heard they were bad.
DeleteHow awful, being a fan of animals with human traits.
Being a fan of ponies with human characteristics is suuuuch a big difference and soooo much better!
Gullible, indeed. lol.
They both boil down to a big bowl of porn and lewdfics in the end.
DeleteOnly trilby-tipping scrubs can't tell the difference.
DeleteBronies, like trekkies and NRA, have a centralised focus of autistic attention.
Furfags are all over the place, anything and everything is open season.
Anonymous30 July 2016 at 01:11
DeleteYeah, what an amazing huge difference THAT makes. The same difference that makes sonic fags completely not furfags, the same reason why the Lion King Fandom is a seperate thing and... oh, wait, no, those are both already furfags again, DESPITE having a centralized focus of attention. Yeah, no, that makes ALLL the difference.
Especially with how, beyond that difference, these fandoms are sooooooooo different in every. single. detail.
No, anon, your wishing that your fandom of choice is totally NOT THE SAME as that other fandom that people tell you you should hate for REASONS, is only your wishful thinking.
Only a little whiney bitch lying to himself will see differences. Or rather, will want to see imaginary differences.
BECAUSE WE ARE NOT FURFAGS DAMMITRGTHAORFUOEASIOFHYASHFSRRRRRGGGG!!!!
PS, the trekkies is a nice attempt as an argument but not entirely thought trough, and it pretty much falls flat. For the same reasons.
And I have no clue what the National Rifle Association has to do with it?
Lol, do you even know, WHY the brony fandom is under it's own name? Way back when the first anons on 4chan realized that they liked this show about little cartoon animals, and groups of them started getting together, they REALIZED that it made them furfags.
DeleteBut, scared as they were (being a furfag on 4chan... yeah, with good reason) they had to think of something, anything, to make clear that they were not, repeat, were NOT FURRIES. Except for when they turned out to become exactly the same as the furry fandom, in a tenth of the time it took for furries to get to what they are now.
They're not only became 'not' furries, but they became 'not' furries in ten seconds FLAT.
And the denial, on both sides BTW, is hilarious.
Can't tell if sarcasm in all this, but I will attest part of all those fandoms is why I avoid lingering directly with some of the big sites in ANY fandom and stick to the outskirts.
Delete@03:39: Scared? Seems like they didn't give a shit and just wanted to have a fun time with ponies at everyone else's expense. See the failed /b/ raid with ponies.

Wow. So this is where pony is right now.
ReplyDeleteKP has always been garbage. This just cements the shit in.
I am confused why anybody takes pony fan reviews so dreadfully serious as to make a volunteer industry out of it.
ReplyDeletePeople wonder the same thing about us and the show before wretching in disgust.
DeleteAnother article, just to show how Corpulent is so one sided on these stories.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the people who accepted the NDA and terms that KP had put to the table before joining her team? What about the comments on the previous articles showing that KP is not to be blamed 100% of these entire thing? You're not going to acknowledge those?
While I agree some were stupid to agree to KPs terms she was the one who came up with them in the first place and gave promises she couldn't keep to attract these people to begin with. The problem may not lie just with KP but it most certainly starts with her.
DeleteCorpulent always seems to have problems with women which I'm sure have nothing to do with the fact that he repulses women in a 10-foot radius either
DeleteTo be fair most of the people exposed on Horse News have been almost equally make/female. Also don't bring gender politics bullshit into this, this isn't IDW or Steven Universe.
DeleteHow hypocritical for you to say considering how HN is always the first in line to bring up "She's just a girl so people work for her" insults on their articles.
DeleteThe more I look this up, the more I hope KP's subscriber count hits zero.
ReplyDeleteYou guys really think that she needs to work on her own? You really think that she could just do it off the bat? Cause honestly, that suggestion isn't going to work. KP isn't a very creative person, and her channel revolves around using other people's skills to create the content she wants. Having her to do everything is not even imaginable. It would require a long term practice that I don't think she's capable of doing. Let alone considering Minty's suggestion of her becoming an animator and making her do all the animation herself. Can't even believe he actually suggested that impossibility.
ReplyDeleteIf anything, the only outcome of this drama is her abandoning her channel, if nobody works for her anymore. At best, she uploads the explanation video and pretend nothing happens.
>suggests ilovehorsedicksalot actually tries animating
DeletePerhaps if she did she'd experience the pain and effort that goes into making pictures move. Scum like her who have never had to go through the grind thinks it's all so easy.
That's not really the point but okay.
DeleteDon't you guys think that this drama would guilt trip other producers into putting a fake smile? Like, wouldn't it turn the director's comment from "I would like you to change this to this thing, and alter this area to this thing, and make it look almost exactly like this. Could you do that for me in 3 days?" to something like "Aww, I really like what you're doing and I love everything that you did. Would it be okay if you do this thing though? I would TOTALLY understand if you can't. Again, I really LOVE LOVE LOVE it."
ReplyDeleteAs someone who is working for someone with a large project, I feel this is the case that's happening because honestly, calling my work as if it's the Mona Lisa, as if it's the best thing the project ever had, is fucking bullshit. And that's a true story. I just can't show proof because protection reasons.
No. This drama is a case study on how to unprofessionally manage a not-for-profit workforce. It is not about any artist's tolerance for criticism.
DeleteIf anything, KP is one of the overly professional people I've seen in this fandom. NDAs, emailing people exactly what you need to do, due dates, and meetings. Not to mention no direct access to the CEO. You have to get past the managers first.
DeleteEither way, not-for-profit doesn't mean volunteers get all the flexibility they want. It's still work to be done, regardless if it's volunteer, intern, or paid work. There still has to be restrictions, deadlines, and if the volunteer can't handle the work load, someone else has to take the position.
The structure seems more like a facsimile to prop up her own ego, as the article stated. She may have put a lot of thought into it, but the reality is she expected too much from a free workforce composed of kids. You really taking a bunch of student hobbyists, connected via internet and a fringe hobby, and treating them like an "real" big boy business is a good idea, let alone something KP is ready to handle? If she was so set on crowning herself the queen of this faux company built on stolen assets, then I think the first thing she should've done was pulled her head out of her ass and think about her personal career goals.
DeleteBecause this shit? It's clearly not for fun, anymore. It's serious business, and that business is to seriously get sempai to notice me.
14:42
DeleteWhat are you trying to say? That she's egotistical cunt who tells people to do the work for her? I agree. And so does she I'm sure. Is she wrong? Has she black mailed someone into working for her? Has she hurt anyone physically? You tell me.
SilverQuill never says anything negative about the show or the comics? Ehm, are there two people with that username? Because the Silver that I watch on youtube and just read an IDW comic review of over at EqD, says plenty negative about both, when needed.
ReplyDeleteDarnit. Above was aimed @ Anonymous 29 July 2016 at 04:26
Delete>it’s to never offer your services for free. No matter who it’s for, or what you think you’ll achieve from it. It won’t get you anywhere
ReplyDeleteI can't say I completely agree to that statement. That's too extreme even for a content creator's point of view. Never offer your services for free? Really? Cause if that is followed by all people in this fandom, there wouldn't be any big collaborative projects like radioplays and even small art collabs. Things that made this fandom enjoyable to many.
I hope this Sean Webby guy realize that this mindset is very extreme and unhealthy considering you're doing things because of money, not because you would enjoy doing it with friends, or just wanna be a helping hand to people's projects.
My understanding of different collabs is that they're small in scope. 5 minute music? Sure it'll take a few weeks. YTPs...Most people put their pieces on their own compilations/channels anyway. Once you get into the animation aspect (i.e. Sonic Rainboom and KP) it's a whole different ballgame as this stuff takes way too long for a single piece.
DeleteYou mean double rainboom.
DeleteBut yeah ofcourse. But I think the reason behind not working for animation for free should not be because of money, but rather because of scope. It should come instinctively to decline such large projects because working for free on it would mean doom to your lifestyle and job. Not because you're not getting monetary compensation. It can be part of the reason however, though on a fandom dedicated to making collaborative projects for fun, it shouldn't be the main reason.
That being said, Sean Webby's extreme point of view tells us that it should all be about the money. Never work for free as if he's the next Joker or some shit. Work for free only if you believe it would benefit you in many ways other than money. One of which is friendship and connection.
Lol, connection to what? MLP? Say goodbye to your career and your social life.
Delete17:01. You're right, my apologies.
Delete17:16. I'm sure I'm blacklisted from a lot of projects. *shrug* I blame dA.
17:16
DeleteTell that to Keyframe, Weimtime, and other people with massive Patreon supporters who had nothing but monetary success, personal fanfic adapted to radioplays, and fun with the fandom. Not to mention KP getting peoe to work for free and got 2 massive animation projects all about her. Did I mention cons paying for her travelling expenses?
>patreon
Delete>bronycons
Well, I guess it is better to reign in hell than serve in heaven.
When you offer services for free you are devaluing yourself.
DeleteSometimes free promotions get you the exposure you need. Look at SEGA when they released Sonic 1 for free with the Genesis.
DeleteOk. I'll try to dissect this and put my thoughts on the article.
ReplyDelete>Initial paragraphs
I don't see how this is relevant in the drama, as Sean Webby just made a mistake in working for her. He knew what the script is, he know what KP wanted, I'm sure he knows what the final outcome is like. Why is it that he's just realizing now that the video was all about KP and John De Lancie? But then again, this is irrelevant on how KP is bad, as it shows that KP hasn't done anything wrong. Just Sean making the stupid decision of joining KP.
>The part where Sean gets personal problems and KP uploads a video saying "send hatemail to SeanWebby Deviantart"
You know it's a joke, but your opinion on how it's poor taste is just that: you're opinion. You expect KP to cry for Sean? No. She's just trying to be casual and comedic. Though she failed at it, she's not in the wrong. Again, it's irrelevant on how KP is bad.
>The part where Sean Webby didn't get the fame he wanted
Welp. You can't always have your senpai notice you.
Alright, this may be the part where KP used a "promise" tactic to have people work for her, I'll give you that. But is she in the wrong for doing this? No. It's up to her staff to judge if her promise would hold water. Turns out it didn't. So sad. Be careful in the future. Why blame KP for it?
For months I've been looking for reasons on why KP deserves being called a bitch who do bad things. I never found one. What people are doing right is suggesting her better actions to take. What people are doing wrong is assuming that her actions prior are evil.
http://i.imgur.com/qdlhQv4.png
The fact people had pointed this out to her years ago and kept doing it makes me fairly confident she's while not necessarily evil, definitely inexperienced and incompetent at running a business and being a team leader.
DeleteShe's getting what was coming to her. You can only act like an ass for so long before people will push back. Just a shame it took do long as to make those willing to put up with her bullshit for this long are made to look foolish too.
Hey KP.
Delete@12:50
DeleteIt's not about people pushing back. It's about the reasons behind people pushing back. She didn't do anything wrong for the most part, and all the article does is highlight arguments that were never about KPs fault anyway. She's an untalented fuck who doesn't deserve the fame she's getting, but don't say that she did something wrong to deserve the hate people are giving her for the mistakes they made themselves. *cough*Sean Webby *cough*
>she didn't do anything wrong
DeleteY-yeah guys, that shitty delay video and the overreaching with the NDAs is p-par for the course! Learn to get thicker skin gawd.
>for the most part
She's made an ass of herself, for the most part. Doesn't mean she can't recover.
Honestly, I don't get the drama behind this. I'm an artist (or at least try to be) myself and I know how much of a bitch it is to do something and either never be accounted for, or never be noticed.
ReplyDeleteBut about this, I can sum it up to him bitching that-
-He didn't get famous.
Yes, I get it she used a promise tactic and she's pretty inexperienced, if not incompetent at running a business, however it's HIS fault for buying into the tactic. But com'on, did he SERIOUSLY think working with a brony-analysis on YouTube was somehow going to make him the next Picasso?
-"Send hatemail to SeanWebby DeviantArt"
Oh, you mean the joke that was made at his expense? Yeah, if anyone took that seriously they need to get their brains examined. Was it in poor taste? Maybe, I didn't have a problem with it. 'Oh her joke got nasty messages sent my way.' I got fucking death threats for saying I didn't ship Scratchtavia, y'know what I did? I laughed my ass off, deleted them and went on my way. Stop being a pansy.
Those are just a couple points, but all I'm really reading from Sean here is "I'm a pussy bitch that didn't get what I wanted and I made some bad decisions. But instead of claiming responsibility for myself, I'm just gonna blame the person I was working for. Because it's easier and will give me drama-points and attention."
Who says he isn't taking responsibility? He admits ever working with her was a mistake. He's just telling the behind-the-scenes of how and why.
Delete>Was it in poor taste? Maybe, I didn't have a problem with it.
Big shit. You didn't have a family emergency to deal with before getting shit on over it. It isn't just in poor taste, it was blatantly disrespectful. Sean would've been within his rights to quit for that slight.
There are certain mental disorders that force people to take things literally.
DeleteGlass houses, Zero. I reckon most of us are here because of mental illness.
Delete@Anonymous
DeleteTaking responsibility wouldn't induce throwing shit at someone because you made a mistake by working with them. He (probably) knows how much of a lynch mob the fandom is and is purposely trying to rile them up. If he was truly done with her he would've quit and that would've been the end of it. I've had my fair share of shit bosses, you don't see me throwing this shit their way?
Two things about that:
Delete1) This wasn't a real job, and
2) Turnabout's fair play. You play the mob on me, I play the mob on you back ;)
In a nutshell, this is pretty much kindergarten shit. Either can walk away and take it as a life lesson and spin it into a decent story for an interview.
Learned my lesson in the hard way too.
ReplyDeleteHelped making promo animation for free for a mid-to-large size mlp con (not BronyCon)
Was so excited when I talked about mlp everything with other members of the team
After the promo animation is finally done I GOT NOTHING
Con heads / staff didn't even wanna spend time talk with me (few of them do)
Well at least I didn't have to sign KM's silly contract I guess
KP I mean
DeleteAlso she's SO NOT FUNNY in Who's Line It Is panel.
Even Race and Saber can't help her
Cool! You've learned your lesson to not sign NDAs that involve you working for free from someone with near impossible promisses. I guess it's time to move on and learn from your mista... oh what's that? Start a drama campaign against the person you worked with and not own up to your mistakes? Is that what I'm hearing?
DeleteTwat, there were mistakes from both sides. stop sucking up to KP who initiated her own downfall.
DeleteOh mistakes on both sides huh? Tell me. Is getting people to produce 2 large projects with little to no effort on KP's side and a literal sweatshop on her teams' side a mistake? Was it a mistake when she have people sign an NDA where you work for free, have strict deadline, and missing meetings would get you a strike?
DeleteNo you fucker. She got exactly what she wanted. Just like Ubisoft getting people to buy 60 dollars of their product while hiring the shittiest programmers and studios known to man. It's not a mistake. The only people to blame are the people who supports the company by buying the game. Same thing here. The only people to blame are the people who supports KP. People like you, Sean Webby.
Err you realise I'm not Sean Webby right, and no, stop spreading bullshit like it cones from one side. It doesn't as you should know KP.
DeleteRebuting my comments with no evidence or proof is counter productive. KP would have made better decisions, sure. But in no way what she's doing now is a mistake or a bad thing, as mentioned in previous comments.
DeleteDude, she's just rude as fuck and presumptuous about the whole thing. The fact that she tried to get people together to produce something isn't the issue. It's the way she went about doing it, as if she's doing everyone a favor or paying a debt. That's why she's all "woe is me, this shitty animation is delayed, rar rar rar lazy unpaid workforce lel im funny"
DeleteAnd the idea that she's having people sign a fucking NDA on a fan project using stolen assets is right outta fucktown. She should know better, but then so should the gullible kids she's conning into the job, right?
>She's rude and presumptuous
Delete>The way she went about doing it as if she's doing everyone a favor or paying debt
>people sign an NDA on a fan project is straight outta fucktown
>She should know better.
Nice opinions. These are the types of arguments that doesn't work. I'm going to show you a cap of an anon's post explaining this better but I'm on mobile.
Point is, opinions don't qualify as a deciding factor on why KP's actions are bad. Go ahead. Tell me to suck KPs dick more. That doesn't help your opinionated subjective arguments. Until you can come with a factual reasons on why KP deserves being called a bad person, I'll still be in the state where the people that work for her take a chunk of the blame on why they felt they were treated unfairly.
I never said that she was a bad person, or that the people who agreed to work with her weren't idiots. We're basically in agreement, but
Delete>Tell me to suck KPs dick more
it looks like you know more than you're letting on, anon.
I just wanna say, Prismatic Zero, you're one of the most reasonable and level headed person I have ever seen whenever drama like these popup on HN. I ask that you never lose that trait.
ReplyDeleteLooks like ego stroking runs in the fandom.
DeleteEgo? As far as I know I've always ditched the ego over sanity and the ability to go from project to project seamlessly. Two or three times I've been removed from previous ones for being level headed and not caving into unrealistic demands.
DeleteHey that's great. But who da Chefs?
DeleteWut
DeleteI had my doubts about the article what with the white knights and doubles' advocates in the comments, but watching that video she posted about the delay dispelled them all. What a turbo-bitch. She's at least taking the right steps with the written public apology.

"or earning what you deserve from someone who will respect your time and effort."
ReplyDeleteLast line in the article, what a riot.
Here's the thing kids: see this as a good training for your later life. When you leave school, and get a job, all this is exactly what will be going on. You think KP is bossy and unfair? You're gonna have a hard time once you joined the labor force, kiddo. The fact that you worked for free for KP and you will work for a wage for another boss, is the ONLY difference.
You think your future boss will respect your time and effort? If you're VERY LUCKY you will get a boss like that, but more likely they will see your time and effort as theirs since they'll be paying you for it, and will demand you put in more time and effort. Can't make a deadline? Think your future boss will not mind, especially since he's paying you? I wouldn't expect your future careers working for someone to be any different.
Sure, KP doesn't really have the right to demand anything since she's not paying, you might think, but that's not even completely true. If you went into a project (even voluntarily) and you make promises about the time you can do it in and the quality you can deliver, you should keep your promises, paid or not. A man a man, a word a word.
The real world, where us grownups live and work, is going to be a LOT like what people working for KP are going trough. Unfair? yes. Can you do anything about it? yeah, start your own business or stay jobless. If you're expecting anything else, you really should adjust your expectations.
TL:DR stop whining, shit like this will happen to you throughout your adult life if you work for someone. Deal.
I don't know of many successful managers who will publicly flagellate you for your efforts to work with them in the middle of a family emergency.
DeleteSuffice it to say, the existence of shitty managers doesn't justify employee abuse. If anything justifies putting up with someone else's shit, it's because you're being paid.
Bullshit. One quick call to HR and that shit gets put to an end.
DeleteTrue that. I don't think ILoveKitchenPatrolAlot set aside resources for an HR department.
DeleteI am not even going to bother engaging with KP's apologists. Their mentality seems to be that those that tried to put up with KP's bullshit deserved what they got and she did nothing wrong, that somehow she was allowed to be a bitch.
ReplyDeleteThe majority of people in this fandom have at least some personality traits that fall in line with Fluttershy, they shouldn't be made to feel it is their fault because assholes take advantage of that.
It's so hypocritical how KP bosses and abuses all her "workers", yet she can't even voice, sing, or edit her own OC well enough to make it sound believable. I'm hoping to get some answers from the horse's mouth herself, assuming she has the ovaries to actually make a proper response, and actually do it herself.
ReplyDeleteAll those extreme POV in the comments saying how she's iredeemable and the only hope for her is to stop. And you claim that you're the good guys here?
ReplyDeleteJesus Christ. It's like what that guy said: People looking for blood no matter what KP would have done.
If you're not in the place to see that she's willing to change, at least be respectful to those who are willing to give her the time to act.
The way I look at it her behavior is very similar to just about every other project I've either observed or worked on. Bronies with a similar understanding would vouch that assuming all things constant she is in a lot (or is full) of horseshit. Personally I lean towards that myself primarily because her methods of operation, while everyone else does it, is highly exploitative and really drills the fact that freelancing in this fandom is still dead (been so since summer 2012). Face it, if she was popular because of her and her alone there wouldn't be a problem. As long as she's continually relying on others it is going to be a continual cycle under the organization ends or the fandom becomes irrelevant.
DeleteI feel that she needs to find some popularity for things she can provide for herself but then again we're in a fandom that is built upon exploiting whatever resources are available.

Glad this exposure practically stopped her in her tracks, since her channel barely uploads now. Now to get rid if a few other "Horse-Famous" hacks still lying about...
