EqG Minis Up, Ponies Slightly Down As Hasbro Reports 2nd Quarter Results

Hasbro held its second quarter results livecast today, and only a few things of value were said. Catch what related to ponies after the jump.

"MY LITTLE PONY declined slightly in the quarter as we transition elements of our toy line...MY LITTLE PONY EQUESTRIA GIRLS mini dolls have performed very well, exceeding our expectations, and are helping offset difficult comparisons to a year ago."

It's very likely that the "elements of our toyline" is the Guardians of Harmony series,  while EqG Mini dolls have to do cleanup work for the "difficult" sales of Friendship Games stuff. Regardless, it does present a very interesting future for that spin-off as the Minis seem to be the only thing producing a profit from it. Traditional dolls for Legends of the Everfree also have been marketed and presumably produced in smaller numbers.

Later on in the webcast, someone asked about the recent acquisition of Boulder Media by Hasbro. No specifics were given other than it being a one-time acquisition cost.
