So it's been a busy few days. Emily Blunt will be blazing the 2017 movie. Supposedly Season 6 will start airing in May. Equestria Girls 4's name - Legend of Everfree - was confirmed. There's finally some decent toys coming out (a little too late in many opinions), and perhaps most interestingly, Hasbro is finally marketing My Little Pony towards Boys AND Girls, as well as "Adults" and "Millennials". And we thought we might never see the day.
The age of the "target demographic" speeches are now a thing of the past.
The 2016 Hasbro Investor Update for Toy Fair had some very interesting slides.
Among them:
The "First" Alicorn Baby?
So...is there going to be more?
They're claiming growth again, so that's a positive.
Look at how badass that Spike is. More interestingly, they have boys being used in their advertisements for the upcoming Guardians of Harmony line, and are officially a target demographic.
Sounds like Equestria Girls 4 will have to do with a camping trip.
Oh, and the movie will be coming out on November 3rd of 2017.
For once, it seems, February is not dripping with drama, as much as ridiculous amounts of interesting news. Perhaps the curse has been lifted for good.
Of course...we're not out of the woods yet.
No drama? That Elements of Harmony toyline is a piece of shit!!
ReplyDeletePerhaps it does. But the Guardians of Harmony toy line looks awesome!
DeleteThe Elements of Harmony will return in the S6 finale.
DeleteHrm, under 'Robust Customer Engagement' the app user number is certainly weird.
ReplyDeleteBrace yourselves, for it is time to learn something today. It may burn a little initially, but on the plus side the pain lessens each time it occurs.
M is the latin numeral for 1000, so 15MM would be 15x2000 or 30,000.
Not really what I would consider impressive growth for an app by a company such as Hasbro. Makes one wonder if it is a typo (almost no-one outside of signmakers and Hollywood films uses the latin numerical system anymore), or perhaps advertising is just doing an excellent job dressing up something not really that impressive to sound considerably more so?
Regardless, it is nice to see Hasbro finally opening up a bit and acknowledging FiM's wider market appeal. For 'Jem and the Holograms' 30th anniversary they did partner with Integrity Toys to create some very high end, and certainly aimed at the adult demographic figurines (the dolls/figurines ran about 120 USD each).
Hopefully Hasbro gets more into this with FiM as well, with offering a selection of better quality collectibles for the more adult market.
wrong.. MM stands for million: http://www.accountingcoach.com/blog/what-does-m-and-mm-stand-for
DeleteWhat? This is actual news? How is this possible? This is horse news for fuck sake? You bastards don't have the competence to write articles like this!!!!
DeleteMM isn't latin numeral in this case, it stands for million.

We're not even halfway through the month yet, with our luck as a fandom we'll have some epic tier shitstorm on the last day of the month or some crap.

If you notice the Adult segment has a BronyCon lanyard so at least they're still acknowledging our cons (which have less fuel than Hasbro has ideas apparently). Plus at least LoE will mean something that isn't garbage...I hope.
ReplyDeleteHopefully this will get Hasbro back in the right direction. With all the random crap they've been putting out over the last few years I've been wondering when it would die.
I thought the ride was almost over...
ReplyDeleteNorth Korea, China, Cuba and the rest of Middle East countries are laughing.
ReplyDeleteYou can take a look at familywhere app that would be a great help for every parent obsessed with safety issues.
