All that remains |
We've noticed the website for the three-year-old convention, Fiesta Equestria, has had it's domain expire. With no twitter activity since July 30th or Facebook post since June 28th, we speculate this convention has bitten the dust. Or just has a lazy web administrator.
there was a huge article on the Houston bronies group form the chairmen of the con... basically he screwed over his family just to have a convention...

DeleteIt's a shame. Fiesta Equestria 2013 was one of the best cons that I went to, but it was way too ambitious and crippled their future prospects. No hard feelings to Headliner. I know he did his best. I know there are people trying to get another convention in Houston, and I wish them the best.
Thanks. I will read this later. I think that the post down below about how this is just the con staff being derps is on the money though. This site likes to proclaim IT'S THE END OF THE FANDOM all the time, which is nonsense. Star Trek hasn't had a show in ten years, though it has had the movies (and not a good show for about 20 since Spider J- uh, Patrick Stewart) and Star Trek cons are HUEG.
DeleteI trust Capper and Co are actually looking through the FB posts and twitter posts on the feed to find the names of the people involved and going to THEIR facebook pages, twitters, etc. to ask them there.
Aren't there other cons in Texas though? I mean sure it's a big place, but a few extra hours drive is a few extra hours drive, no big deal.
What page did you originally find that link on, btw? I want to look there too anyway.
DeleteNightmare Nights Dallas is the only convention left in Dallas. Chelis was there.
DeleteThe closing panel at Fiesta Equestria 2013 the con chair admitted to draining his entire life savings to pull off the convention.
DeleteHas there ever been a MLP convention in Austin, TX? If there hasn't, I will drain my life savings and have one in one of the bars on 6th street. Hopefully it's recovered from that Texas fire awhile back.

I agree, MLP is losing viewership pretty bad this season, albeit Discovery Family is doing a pretty terrible job at advertising the show...at all. The show, nor the fandom, is or will ever be the way it was years ago, when people were actually nice to one another and didn't put down constructive criticism and everyone was on equal grounds and there were far fewer 'cliques'.
ReplyDeleteAnd the show just doesn't understand basic story telling and jumps all over the place while changing things. They never get back to anything be it Twilight becoming an Alicorn or never bothering to do a single thing with the Equestria Games (and once again putting spike in a position to be embarassed and sulk around, even if the ending is great), and if they do it's a year or two after the fact!
Although this season has been trying it's darndest to make up for the last two seasons, and succeeding pretty well. I really want this finale to actually do something different for a change. I've been ready and all I really want is for the show to have a consistant quality of episodes. A good story or comedy could make up for a lot of things.

DeleteMakes you wonder what these losers who run horse news are going to do with their meaningless lives. LOLOL
DeleteThe Sonic fandom will gladly welcome y'all, after all, both fandoms are cut from the same autistic cloth.
Delete"The show, nor the fandom, is or will ever be the way it was years ago, when people were actually nice to one another and didn't put down constructive criticism and everyone was on equal grounds and there were far fewer 'cliques'. "
DeleteOH MY FUCKING GOD are you fuckin tryna pull that pussyass "love and tolerate" hugbox "OH NO DONT HURT MY FEELINGS WITH *fucking GASP* CRITIQUE???". THIS IS WHAT MADE THIS FANDOM SO CUCKED IN THE FIRST PLACE. Love and Tolerate was literally a fucking joke before candyass new bronies from not-4chan actually started taking it seriously, and what turned into people being nice and the golden rule and whatever turned into "OH NOOO DONT HURT MY FEELINGS WITH CRITIQUE, I CAN'T HANDLE PEOPLE SAYING MY SHIT IS ACTUALLY SHIT", grow a goddamn fuckin pair LOL
All you're doing is making me side with those taking the philosophy to heart rather than the fucktards that go on laces like here and 4chin.
DeleteThere's a difference between constructive criticism and being an asshole, and I don't think Mu[shroo]shi gets it. The great thing about using a name is it allows people to form opinions of your character as you show it on various media outlets.
Delete03:47 up there has some rose-tinted lenses, but you're showing your ass, shroo.
My only response to the whole "Love and Tolerate" thing is this:

I know, , 8:13, why can't we all just love and tolerate, bro ^;^). That being said, BronyOrgy 2k15 will be held at my nearest Chuck.E. Cheese. Please send $3000 per person to my Patreon account to make this Orgy a reality at patreon.com/accounts/OrgyCon2k15. I can be contacted at TexanOrgy@orgymail.com. If we raise up enough, we can also afford the Hugbox Surpreme Special pizza package, which will give everyone a free cup and 10 Chuck.E. Coins per person!

Poopie scoobie! POOPIE SCOOBIE!
ReplyDeleteHas nothing to do with the show, or the fandom. In fact, it probably has nothing to do with the convention not doing well. This is how checked out FE seemed after their best year, 2013. And yet, despite an issue in a division of leadership, having two Fiesta Equestrias, and then back down to one, seeing that a website has not been renewed and that a twitter handle is not responsive is not indication of a convention closing, it's evidence of the same shit that's been happening here for over two years. Buyer beware, but they'll be back probably.
ReplyDeleteSupposedly they found someone to take over and start from scratch, though they're considering a name change. Late 2016 or possibly 2017 is their target date. Got that from a single source and without any confirmation, though.
ReplyDeleteI've kept my distance from the Houston Bronies for going on 3 if not 4 years by now. A lot of the problems within the Houston Bronies group are not new and have kind of spiraled out of control since the third Fiesta Equestria.
ReplyDeleteOr, like the other two FEs the people who are in charge with maintaining the websites suck. It's not particularly a new issue there either, who knows.
I wouldn't know.

Questions always come up on what is the difference including the pros and cons between cheap versus expensive perfume. Over the years I have consulted with many individuals to get their views on this subject. With that said, let me share their input.
