New Lion King Cartoon "Inspired" by MLP; /co/ Triggered


It's no secret that many companies in recent years have wanted to replicate the success of Friendship is Magic. Whether it's Filly Funtasia, various quality bootlegs, or making one of your characters a pony fan, everyone wants a piece of Hasbro's pie. Enter Disney's new show, "The Lion Guard."

 

Aiming for a similar audience as Friendship is Magic, the idea of a lion with a cutie mark did not make it past the ever-vigilant eyes of /co/mrades, who took a break from discussing their gem waifus to complain about Disney's new cartoon based on a twenty-year old franchise:

One can only wonder how this show, scheduled to release later this year will cause a massive amount of people "leaving the fandom" to make money off of the hot new thing add to the ever-increasing number of cartoon fandoms lately. Another /co/ anon provided a macro of the future of cartoons:

2016: The Year of the Furry?

One thing is for sure, given the already large presence of Lion King fans, this show is sure to be the next annoying thing that fans of it spread across the Internet like a cancer. To quote one infamous /co/ anon, and speaking with hindsight, "this is going to have SO much porn."

      the only redeeming quality that SU has is that it sometimes panders to sexual minorities.

      if you're not into that for whatever reason, it's a typical western cartoon in the same vein as adventure time and that's it.

      oh, and the fanbase is more cancerous than superwholock and bronies
