Yep. 22 minutes pandering. Confirming headcanons, not a single creative input, and maybe one decent joke. Could we sue Hasbro/DHX at that point? The episode was pretty much written by the fandom.
I thought it was pretty nice, didn't see secret agent bonbon coming at all. It was refreshing to see an episode with out the mane 6 as a love letter from Hasbro to the fans. I really wouldn't mind more episodes like this.
Worst Episode Ever! Hasbro/DHX will get sued by fanmade writer from FIMFiction and M.A. Larson is the worst writer since season 3 finale. What a horrible episode it is! Season 5 is going down hill and rating will go down and the bronies got something to go this summer beside watching new episodes on the Saturday. And the princess era must stop now, it's gone too far!
Nigga, you've been commenting here for fucking months now with the same spiel. I swear you've called at least ten different episodes the worst one ever. Make up your mind already and stop being Comic Book Guy.
So... I didnt think this was that bad. Sure it made the same meme overdose mistake Double Rainboom made (which is kinda... bad for Larson), but unlike DR, I didnt feel like I was watching the writer smell his own farts for 22+ minutes.
But seriously, Secret Agent Bon Bon/Sweetie Drops? Now that was random.
The low viewer count is due solely to DiscoFam's shitty scheduling and promotion of the episode. Casual viewers/little girls (members of "The Target Demographic") are stupid as hell and don't know or care how to look up when a new episode is airing. Therefore, if Discovery Family shows new episodes in an erratic fashion (which they have been doing), Target Demographic viewers don't know when the next episode will air so they stop watching. There were two weeks of no new episodes prior to this, and really shitty promotion for the episode that didn't make it clear enough at the start of the break that THERE'S A NEW EPISODE IN THREE WEEKS YOU FUCKS, MARK YOUR CALENDARS YOU IDIOTS SO YOU WON'T FORGET TO WATCH IT.
Additionally, it's summer. And little kids are like, outside or something on a saturday at 11:30AM EDT. So if it's not crammed into their head that a new episode is airing, they won't watch. AND, DiscoFam doesn't have a time-delay west coast feed, so that hurts the ratings even more, for every episode. I'm sure we would've already gotten to 1 million+ viewers if The Hub/DiscoFam had had a west coast feed (so the episode would air at the "same time" on west and east coasts, but there'd be a 3-hour delay. And on DiscoFam they don't even mention the west coast time. They should be saying "NEW MY LITTLE PONY AT 11:30 AM, 8:30 WESTERN" Because remember the TV/Nielsen viewers are stupid as fuck so by not saying that, and only saying "AT 11:30" they assume it's like almost all other channels with cartoons on them, and think it will be at 11:30 everywhere.
Ah ha! Changeling-in-Ponyville fanfics are canon!

DeleteThe bronies are still angry about yesterday's episode and Hasbro has gone too far.
DeleteWell, it was a 22 minute long trainwreck akin to Double Rainboom.
ReplyDeleteMemes and references overdose with no story keeping them together, etc.
> with no story keeping them together
Deletebro, did you not pay any attention?
Yep. Memes and pandering all the way.
ReplyDeleteGod, I loved it.

I think that was based on a popular tumblr
DeleteYeah, but it's the ripoff and it sucks.
DeleteI really don't see what the fucking problem is. I liked this episode. Fuck you people.
ReplyDeleteThis Episode SUCKS! M.A. Larson, you and Meghan McCarthy are going down!
ReplyDeleteF***ing loved all the memes!
ReplyDeleteThis sucks! S5 is going downhill. M.A. Larson had no chance in hell!
ReplyDeletePurple Smart was there just because Hasbro can claim her name by having Matilda calling her "Purple Smart."
ReplyDeleteOMG was I high or something that never happened why did I say that happended
DeletePonescum of the world: "We never hijacked the show, we just appreciated it, we were never the demographic!"
ReplyDeleteAnd then this happened.

ReplyDeleteWhy can't I hold all these pandas and wings? And what is a bugbear?
ReplyDeletegr8/10
ReplyDeleteThis episode is the 5th lowest views in MLP History. 431,000 views not good and the show is going downhill.

ReplyDeleteStill one of the top 10 worst episode ever.
ReplyDeleteOnly bad part of this was the 'doctor whooves' bullshit.
