I don't follow the actual show developments just the massive butthurt that happens because of it. I'm waiting Twilicorn equivalent, that drama was so glorious. I was actually against it at the time, but since the writers have largely ignored it and done nothing with character progression I soon became ambivalent.
I want an episode where Luna goes into Applebloom's dreams to help her out with something. That way, it would make sort of a loose trilogy over Season 3 and Season 4's "Sleepless in Ponyville" and "For Whom the Sweetie Belle Tolls", where she helped each of the CMC.
I'm hoping for more Discord in general. Discord is one of the few characters who is genuinely fascinating and completely steals the scene in his every appearance. He's certainly the one character who's had the starkest development since his debut. I don't want him to become overused or anything, but having him in the opener, finale and in one episode mid-season seems like a good formula to me, so I hope it continues here.
Despite what some people feel about a "Katie Cook ego boost", I'd like to see Tiberius, too. That's the one thing from the comics, if anything, I'd like to see in the show because of how simple and easy it would be to put him in in the background, or in passing.
If there's anything from the comics making an appearance in the show, I may just drop it entirely.
The sharp decline from being something worthwhile (decent world building bits) to just coming off as glorified fan fiction (shipping bullshit, fan and anti-fan OCs getting cameos), as well as several of the personalities being gargantuan morons (Mebberson, Anderson) on social media has totally soured it for me.
I'm holding out and wishing that none of the excessive pandering will show up, but I'm hoping against hope.
Fans always wind up influencing the work as time goes on. But of course, the dysphoria between the show's intended audience and the audience that can express their thoughts has already taken its toll. Season 4 was starting to get into the overtly pandering threshold, and Season 5 is going to break those floodgates wide open. Even moreso now since fans are somehow weaseling their way into the show's production; some better (MandoPony) than others (BlackGryphon).
They say the ride won't stop, but at some point this train's gonna be going too fast for the turn. Buckle up.
Sometimes I think people forget that this franchise has been around for decades and used to appeal exclusively to little girls. That there's all this porn and dark shit and crossovers and drama over this thing that used to be just another vehicle for selling toys to girls in the 1980s is hilarious.
Maybe Spike gets a cell phone! Has Fluttershy ever owned a bear?

The episodes will fly and /mlp/ won't cry, if you play... Season 5 Bingo.

ReplyDeleteThere's no free space...
ReplyDeleteThe free space should be fandom pandering in the 100th episode
>horses doing horse things
DeleteSo no one is going to win this game, huh?
ReplyDeleteGriffon episode would be nice. Just sayin'

ReplyDeleteAlso, yes to Tiberius. Tiberius is awesome.

Delete>Tiberius.
ReplyDeleteEven if I like it, it'd give Cook an insufferable ego boost.
And after the latest comic I don't really want that.

A quick reminder: the creator of this show absolutely hates anything Equestria Gurls, as well as Twilight getting wings.
DeleteBut whatever. The 2017 movie is probably going to be the end of the line no matter what in the end.
"Creator"
DeleteYeah, that's rich to call Faust like that. All she did is made concept arts and wrote a few episodes...
>implying that's all a showrunner does

DeleteI am betting on a comic reference, Spike development, and horsy things.
ReplyDeleteNeeds some:
ReplyDelete- Bipedal Ponies
- Ponies using more human tech
and
- Another modern-day, human-like city is introduced.
Because that's much easier and cheaper than keeping the original medievalesque style.
>"Needs to be Equestria Girls because I don't understand how anything works."
DeleteYou forgot aliens.
ReplyDeleteayyy lmao
DeleteI hope there's an episode where Spike learns the importance of board culture.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm playing.
ReplyDeleteShould we perhaps mix up the positions of our individual game cards?
