Furry Dakimakura C&D'd by Hasbro


This afternoon Furry Dakimakura, a creator of many adult-themed character body pillows discontinued the production of all pony Dakimakuras. Very little information was made available in their post , other than the fact that Hasbro gave them a notice to cease production of pony-related products. Fdaki management provided some more insight in an email to Horse-News.

Due to the risk of further legal action from Hasbro, Fdaki was unable to answer many questions, but had this to say:
" I am sorry to not be able to answer all of your questions, as I am concerned I may put myself at risk of further legal issues. 
          We are not accepting new orders and all outstanding orders have been refunded.
We didn’t own any of the designs, we licensed them, and all those licenses are terminated. What the artists do is up to them. But we will not print them under any circumstances.
We don’t know what we are going to do next. We’re waiting to find out what Hasbro’s lawyers make us do next."
 Fdaki regrets that they are unable to provide any further information about their situation. "Sorry about that. We are having a very bad day."



This is the latest known cease and desist order that Hasbro has issued to a fandom product creator, and notably one of the few of an adult nature. Recently Hasbro requested the ending of the John Joseco tumblr project "Ask Princess Molestia", which dealt with adult themes. Many fans are concerned that this may indicate a beginning trend of targeting "obscene" fan-works.

    it's pretty clear hasbro does not like people buying pony merchandise not from their actual toyline but the fact of the matter is people want sexy pony pillows and hasbro sure as shit isn't going to be producing sexy pony pillows, plus it's pretty unfair that they're trying to do this because some of the pony toys made by hasbro are pretty crap ironically enough and they keep putting the toys out before the episode even happened! like alicorn twilight was on the shelves WAY before the actual episode comes out

    Lol ponyfags are mad because hasbro doesn't like all the adult themed merch being made and sold based off a children's tv show. Whether the fanbase is mostly adult or not isn't the problem. The problem is the show was made for children and even though hasbro loves the adult fans who aren't perverted cloppers, they feel they need to keep eyes on merch being sold so unsuspecting little children don't start buying adult themed merch by accident and causing a scandal, the first people to be blamed by unsuspecting parents is hasbro themselves. They will outright believe Hasbro is the problem. So Hasbro is trying to protect not just themselves, but the show and the much younger fanbase. I am definitely not a fan of my little pony, I don't understand the fanbase at all, and I don't see the appeal in it at all. But I'm telling you now what I see here is Hasbro doing it to protect, not to hurt. Whether you're willing to see that or not is your choice.

    Well I cant say I didn't see this coming. I feel bad for those who worked hard on their designs only to have them bashed by all the assholes out there. However, just as much of the fandom draw and enjoys adult pony works as those who don't. I fear if they continue like this, they're going to destroy their largest source of popularity. They know full well they wouldn't have half of what they do now from that show if not for bronys. I hope they take that into account while they're at this.
