Seen here is the last posting made on the tumblr, featuring Luna hitting a large unknown button.
Anons speculate this was a reference to the "Delete Tumblr" button."Ask Princess Molestia" has recently been the target of a campaign known as "Down With Molestia", spearheaded by one April Davis, better known by her twitter and tumblr alias as "Pinkie Pony", who notoriously has a vendetta against bronies, as she has stated many times in her postings.
She has recently become aware of the developments.

People really need to get a grip here.
DeleteFair use can be extremely legally complicated. Parody is clearly protected, but the question is, when is something actually a parody, and when is it just an attempt at making something new out of something which already exists? Moreover, it is more complicated than that, as trademark law also gets involved in some cases.
The problem with Ask Princess Molestia is that it is not really a cut-and-dried parody. Something like Cupcakes is very clearly protected, as is something like, say, Luna and Celestia and the budget crisis or whatever it was called. Friendship is Manly as a one-shot is less cut-and-dried, but still wouldn't be something I would litigate as a company.
But something like Ask Princess Molestia kind of rides a line that is very dangerous. It had Trixie, Twilight, Celestia, and Luna all over the place, and merely calling Celestia Molestia is not enough to protect you legally, especially given the other characters' names were unchanged. Moreover, while parts of it were clearly parody, other parts of it were much less clearly so, and it sort of danced the line.
Would he win a lawsuit over it? I don't know. But I do think it isn't worth it to him to fight a lawsuit over it.
Now, there are other things that have been taken down which are much more cut-and-dried - Fighting is Magic was obviously infringing, for instance, and there's no way they'd win that lawsuit.
Also "buy rights to MLP" is hilarious. Yeah, you could do that. That would cost, I would guess, at least nine digits, possibly ten, depending on how much they make from it, as well as how integral it is to their business model (at this point? Very).
Yes, you could attempt to make a case that Hasbro is violating fair use laws. Of course, this would be a rather flimsy case, considering the tumblr used mlp characters and setting. But forget about that. Assume Hasbro was in clear violation of fair use laws. How would you proceed? Sure, you could "sue their ass," but in all honesty, you would lose that case. The fact of. The matter is that America's court system is professionally biased. One guy going up against a huge corporation such as Hasbro, who undoubtedly possesses a whole team of high value lawyers? You wouldnt stand a chance. And so if it really is true that Hasbro took the blog down, there's not much anyone could do about it.

We're so controversial people forget we're people too. i myself wind up having WAY too many conversations about bronyism among my friends, they freaking bring it all the time and claim i'm the one who does it. anyways we're fine for now. we fought for derpy and won. among other things like lauren leaving. i like to think we're a pretty strong fandom, like furries, though i wish people didn't give them a bad rap either, our fandoms are similar to an extent, i mean one of my friends is a furry and one of his friends i discovered recently is a brony and a furry too. which is cool i think.

Now, tumblr is free to take down what it wants, but given it has porn on it, rape jokes are hardly out of bounds or degrade the face of the service.

The point was to make you realize that mentioning a statistic in a fashion that presents itself as a one-sided statement lends itself to the idea of you (the poster) being ignorant to the whole of the situation. In other words, the replying person assumed you were being a double-standard-wielding blatherer talking about how woman are the only ones hurt by those jokes. Furthermore, if you are going to say that anything that ruins someone's life is a no-go for humor, then rape and molestation are not the only things to look at. There are many more aspects of comedy that are based off of things that have ruined peoples' lives, and they get the same look as those kinds of jokes. They're still told, and some people still laugh about it. They're funny to some, not to all-get over it and deal with it as you will.
DeleteFurthermore, you are NOT ALWAYS promoting a culture of something simply by telling a joke based off of some idea somehow related to it. The same applies to laughing to a joke of the sort. If I make a joke about racism, it doesn't necessarily mean I'm a racist. If I make a joke about someone being hurt (comedic violence), it doesn't mean I promote violent activity. That is faulty logic and you know it-if you don't, then you need to take a step back and reconsider what you're thinking and saying until you can comprehend what it implies.
The implication that us laughing at it somehow normalizes the rapists and molesters is absurd and I would like to hear a bit of evidence on how we're somehow actually promoting this 'rape culture' you speak of. Are there any rapists that have spoken out and said 'Rape is just so funny, everyone's laughing at it, so it's normal, right?' The closest you'll get to it is the religious sorts blathering about how rape isn't real and how a woman will somehow force out a pregnancy if it was unwanted. That happens to be an idea unrelated to rape-based humor as it lies within religious dogma.
tl;dr: Rape doesn't have to be funny to you to be funny; making rape jokes does not mean someone promotes rape; I want the person who made that statement to give evidence that rape-humor has in some way been the cause of a 'rape culture.'
To clarify, whilst I do recognize those other two types of jokes have indeed sparked actions based on them, racism is still not accepted any more than it would be without the jokes. The people that promote it would still promote it and the people that are against it are still against it. They'd find different ways to 'justify' racist actions even without the humor. Comedic violence turning into the form of actual violence is widely-spoken of, but any serious cases of it happening are usually in controlled situations or perpetrated by people that aren't right in the head. I'm not going to go so far as to assume it as fact, but I highly doubt they really think that their actions are 'acceptable' or 'unacceptable' so much so as they simply think it is humorous.
DeleteRapists aren't in it for the humor, and any sign of them finding 'normalization' usually comes from other sources than comedy as far as I've understood it. As far as I've heard about these situations, if the rapist thinks its okay, it's usually because they don't see it as rape. They justify it as some form of consensual sex in a different manner. Of the ones I've heard that know and own up to their crimes, I don't think I've ever heard one come out and say it was because of rape-humor, nor have I ever heard of any hints of it.

To be honest, I'm on neutral ground. Sure I didn't like Molly at first, but when Gamer Luna was added, I had a reason to check it out. Either for Luna or her interactions. When the... I forgot what the arc was called. It had Fausticorn in it. When that arc came; I saw a different side to Molly. It made me think, "How did canon Celestia stay sane all these years? Maybe she already snapped, but soon came to her sences?" Celestia was so alone that she snapped into Molestia.
