After the release of the wildly-disappointing "Watch_Dogs", whose only saving grace was it's IWTCIRD Easter Eggs, several other games have been brought up recently each with pony-themed clickbait. Unlike Watch_Dogs however, these games are old as fuck, and are clearly hopping on the pony wagon to maintain some semblance of relevance.
First up was the image above, an error code from the popular lego-ripoff "Minecraft". One of the crash reports that can show up in the event of an error is the phrase "I just don't know what went wrong", a clear allusion to one of the few lines spoken by
Anons were hardly surprised at the inclusion of a pony reference in the video game that has sparked the most absurdly dedicated fanworks since...ponies (maybe just disappointed more than anything).
But the references didn't stop there. 2 days ago, World of Warcraft added the "Pneumatic Pony Cannon" to the game inventory.
"Fires a rideable pony up to 0 to 50 yards away".
"Say hello to my lil' pony".
Ugh. But this is just a piece of fan-labor right? It's not like World of Warcraft is in trouble or anything, it's not like they just lost a shitton of subscibers recently-
Oh. Well then.
Yeah, Minecraft, Warcraft, it won't be long until Starcraft makes Pony Pylons canon in a vain attempt to keep the public's interest.
Is "Fighting is Magic" just too much to ask for?
Besides, we all know what dying franchise will actually be next to license ponies to keep the cash flowing...
Video games need to do these kinds of things to stay relevent, those card games and that darn hoop and stick game are quickly overshadowing them
ReplyDeleteMore references is more butthurt is good.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the one in WoW is really a reference, that's just what people in the comments on Wowhead think.
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of comments there, where the hell is the butthurt?
I want to fuck a pony in the asshole.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, Anon, this hiatus has struck us all.
DeleteThis nigga's got his priorities straight.
DeleteFinally an assertion we can all get behind.
DeleteSomeone should finish "Fighting Is Magic" from Mane6 their new project is bs.

There's links to the actual game down below somewhere.
That crash report has been there for quite some time though. It was already there around beta 1.7 if I remember right.
ReplyDeleteWell to be fair WoW, minecraft, watch dogs, and all the games doing this are geared towards children so it makes sense for developers to continue grabbing ahold their target demographic's attention
ReplyDeleteNigga please.
DeleteIsn't that the case with basically all vidyas?
DeleteTF2's magical mercenary hat gives access to additional voice lines that reference MLP.
Delete>inserting pony to save a dying product too shit to stand on its own creative merit
ReplyDeleteHasbro is love. Hasbro is life.
I don't think the one in WoW is really a reference, that's just what people in the comments on Wow think. Thanks a lot for nice information..........
ReplyDelete>My Little Angry Birds
ReplyDeleteHasbro, put down the gun. We don't want any trouble.
Once again horse enthusiasts greatly overestimate their own importance. I highly doubt any of these references were put in because the devs thought appealing to the oh-so-significant pony-fan demographic would make any noticeable difference to their sales. All three of the games you referenced have literally hundreds of other pop-culture references to equally obscure franchises. Maybe all the blog posts on all their little community sites combined might have a slight effect, but it still seems far more likely that devs just like making pop-culture references.
ReplyDeleteInternet amusements develop them in something else which incidentally lessen the measure of consideration they provide for the business related unpleasant circumstances. The time spent on playing the diversion goes about as a refreshment for the workplace laborer. It is even very prescribed to play diversions when focused. http://www.overwatch-boosting.com
ReplyDeleteThere are so many cool opportunities for game development right now, including different engines. After reading about the different options, I decided to stick with Unity https://ilogos.biz/unity-game-development-company/. Developing games on any engine is hard, so it's always worth working with experienced developers who definitely have a lot of experience in development and can create a quality product.
ReplyDeleteFor me, cs go is one of the few games that is still relevant to me, and I think for many other people too. I'm sure that there are a lot of csgo fans here too, so I can recommend a site with csgo skins. My last purchase was moto gloves boom skin which I'm happy to have in my collection. I think this is a great way to diversify the gameplay.
